Wordpress is the popular open source blog platform that every PHP-MySQL web designer should have experienced working on it. Talking about development on web site or blog with Wordpress, we usually working on plugin development besides theme which generally more on user interfacing need.

"MTC is a 1-month competition opened to contestants across the Asia Pacific countries (see list).  It’s about positioning any OSS PHP applications on the cloud as a service.  Competition entries which are the most creative and with best business viability wins."

I have completed my entry to Milking The Cloud contest. I have deployed my selected open source php based software - phpAlbum.net. But the works still running on some cloud part which I still learning. This includes of using Azure blob storage to store image files and using SQL Azure to store the database.
 
PHPAlbum originally used no database to store the data. I have to reconfigure the data storage and access method using file concept and convert them to SQL Azure. The file stored in server hard disk also should be transferred to blob storage for backup.

Open Source Developer Club Malaysia (osdc.my) have organized a competition opened to all programmer in Asia Pacific countries. The 1-month competition starting from 29th May 2010 required the contestants to configure any existing PHP based open source software running on the cloud as a services.

'The Cloud' here means a platform Internet-based computing, whereby shared resources, software and information are provided to computers and other devices on-demand, like the electricity grid.
